Pool Thermometer Accuracy Test Follow
Do you suspect that your pool thermometer is reading inaccurately or unsure if its reading correct?
Here's how to test the accuracy of your pool thermometer:
To test the accuracy of a pool thermometer, you can use the ice bath method. Fill a glass with ice and water, insert the thermometer, and wait for it to stabilize. A properly made ice bath should read 32°F (0°C)
1. Ice Bath Test:
- Make an ice bath: Fill a tall glass with ice cubes and add pre-chilled water until just below the top of the ice.
- Stir: Stir the ice and water for about 1 minute.
- Insert thermometer: Submerge the thermometer's stem or probe into the center of the ice bath, ensuring it's not touching the sides or bottom of the glass.
- Wait and read: Allow the thermometer to stabilize for about 30 seconds and read the temperature.
- Expected reading: A properly made ice bath should read 32°F (0°C).
If these tests were unsuccessful and your pool thermometer is still inaccurate, please provide us with your Order ID number and full shipping address and we will look into replacing this for you if it is within warranty.
