Probes Not Reading Properly

If you suspect that your probe/device is reading inaccurately. We recommend a few ways to check if your thermometer is giving you inaccurate readings:

- Room temperature test: While the probe isn't inserted into anything and is sitting at room temperature, would you consider that reading to be close to accurate based on your home thermostat?

For a more precise assessment of your probes accuracy try the following:

- Boiling water test: Get a pot of water to a rolling boil. Without removing the pot from heat, insert the probe to test the temperature of the water (Try to keep the probe from making contact with the pot). You should be getting a temperature that is within a degree or 2 from 212 F (100 C).
