Note:

• Emissivity is how efficiently an object or surface emits (discharges) thermal energy. Most organic objects (food, water, clothes) are efficient thermal energy emitters and thus have high emissivity, (closer to 1.0). While objects made of certain metals or reflective materials (stainless steel, tin, mirrors) would have a much lower emissivity (closer to 0).
• For temperature measuring purposes, the TP-30 emissivity needs to be adjusted to the emissivity value of the material being measured.
