Hello, how much memory does TP-357 have? I've placed a device in a remote place, outside Bluetooth range - how often do I have to go near that location for my phone to pair with the device and collect contiguous data?
It will retain data for up to 1 year. The device will automatically update data as soon as you enter bluetooth range when the devices pair with each other. When you want to the data to be updated, you will need to go within Bluetooth range.
Woow, 1 year?!! That's very impressive! I think you should add this info to the device's specs, might be useful to others.
I just bought two more of these (I rent properties, really useful for helping tenants with managing their environment). The latest ones I just bought have a CSV data export capability that is really good. I'm a computer guy by background and I'll go build myself a PowerBI dashboard to have a customised interface.
Hello,
how the CVS export works? Is it a feature of the sensor or of the app?
Thanks!
Pavlin
It's from the app that an email can be sent with the CSV as the attachment.
I cannot find the export feature in the app. Can you please explain how it is done? Another question I have is; is the historical data maintained after switching battery?
First thing to check is the model number is TP357S. Earlier versions of the thermostat do not have an export function. I also have a TP357 and it has no export function. In the app, top right hand corner select the three horizontal lines. If the thermostat has an export function there will be an option to select "Export Data". Click on it and in the next dialog the export parameters can be configured and the file can be send to an email address. I just re-tested it and it worked. I haven't tested the battery removal and data retention.
The data is maintained. It happened often for me to realize weeks or months later that the battery in the basement, attic or garage has drained. After replacing the battery you can see in the app the current values, and you can scroll back over a “blank” area until you find again data from when the old battery was still running.
The export feature is definitely dependent on the hardware. I didn't purposely order an "S" version. I ordered the same product as I had done in the past in then discovered the "S" version has export functionality and the previous one doesn't. I haven't found any way of specifying an "S" version on an order.
